FAQs

What is Pubathon?

Pubathon - short for 'publishing marathon' - is a one-of-its-kind research publishing event that aims to make manuscript submission easier in order to clear desk screening and be sent for peer review. Pubathon will be held across two days, February 25-26. Day 1 (February 25) offers you the crucial journal editor's perspective on successful manuscript submissions. Day 2 (February 26) lets you hear from fellow researchers on their stories of struggle and success with manuscript submissions. And yes, registration is entirely FREE, but LIMITED. So, sign up now!

Should I attend one day or both days?

Each day provides a different perspective on manuscript submission, Day 1 the journal editor's, and Day 2 the possibly more personal and relatable one of fellow researchers. So, we would recommend signing up for both. That's why we have scheduled Pubathon closer to the weekend - to allow more researchers to attend and connect. But we understand researchers are busy individuals. Which is why we came up with Pubathon - to make this crucial research publishing milestone faster for you.

How long are the sessions on each day?

Each day, there are two sessions of 90 minutes each. On Day 1 (February 25), we have a 60-minute session featuring journal editors. On Day 2 (February 26), there's a one-hour session featuring researchers. On both days, after the speakers' session, there is a 30-minute session showing the power of AI-based assessment checks to make manuscript submission faster and easier, along with hands-on experience.

Will I get a certificate for attending?

Yes, all attendees – on one or both days – get a certificate for the respective day(s). And all registrations get access to the recorded sessions for both days.

R Pubsure is a revolutionary manuscript assessment tool that, through its powerful AI, runs a suite of checks on your manuscript to evaluate its submission-readiness. It thus helps you submit a manuscript that is complete in every way possible, with the aim to clear desk screening. Quite simply, our  mission is to ‘kill desk rejection.'

What is R Pubsure?

Do I need to have knowledge/experience of R Pubsure to attend Pubathon?

Prior knowledge/experience of R Pubsure is not necessary, but it may help you gain more from Pubathon. On both days, you'll get to see, first-hand, just how you can make a successful submission faster through the power of R Pubsure.

It may help to have a ready (or even a WIP/draft) manuscript to see just how you can improve its submission-readiness through R Pubsure. In fact, if you come in with a 'rough' manuscript on Day 1, you may even have it submission-ready by Day 2 using the checks of R Pubsure!

At what time are the sessions in my location - and how long are they?

We have timed the session on each of the two days for maximum participation from researchers across the world. Each day, the session starts at the same time and is of the same duration, 1.5 hours (90 minutes). You may check the timing for Day 1 (February 25) in your location based on the time zone on your device. The session for Day 2 (February 26) starts at the same time the next day.
